Pavel Pogrebnyak's four goals in as many UEFA Cup ties have propelled the FC Zenit St. Petersburg forward to joint top of the competition's goalscoring chart – and jeopardised the chances of a FC Bayern München player taking the top-scorer accolade.

Bayern's Luca Toni, Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski occupy three of the top eight places in the table, which takes into account goals scored from the first round onwards. And with three of the other players listed no longer involved in the tournament, the in-form Pogrebnyak has emerged as the most serious rival to the Bundesliga leaders' free-scoring trio.
Pogrebnyak, 24, scored in each leg of the Round of 32 defeat of Villarreal CF, and followed that up by scoring twice more in the second leg against Olympique de Marseille to secure the Russian champions' place in the quarter-finals. He is now on seven goals, the same as Bayern's top scorer Toni.
